Electro-Optics

EMCCDs employ a unique architecture that enables the device to greatly amplify (>1000 times) the number of resulting electrons produced by the incident light. This feature gives the EMCCD a far superior advantage over existing CCD technology in low light conditions. Real time images can be obtained in lux levels of 10-5 equivalent to a dark overcast night with no artificial light.

Right now we have the Eagle V as the only CCD camera in our portfolio. It is one of the most sensitive CCD camera platforms in the World. Using a choice of back-illuminated CCD sensor. Offering low read noise, unbinned and binning options, the Eagle also offers dual read-out rates.

Eagle V CCD

Long Exposure Camera

Right now we have the Eagle V as the only CCD camera in our portfolio. Introducing one of the most sensitive CCD camera platforms in the World. Using a choice of back-illuminated CCD sensor from e2v (CCD42-40 and CCD47-10), and putting into Raptor’s proprietary PentaVac vacuum enclosure and cooling it to -90°C.

The Eagle V is the perfect camera for long exposures. Offering low read noise of <2.3e- unbinned and binning options up to 64×64, the Eagle also offers dual read-out rates of 75kHz and 2MHz.
